What you’ll do
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming to ensure their comfort and dignity.
- Provide patient observation and monitoring to track health changes and report any concerns to healthcare professionals.
- Support clients with meal preparation and cooking, ensuring nutritional needs are met while accommodating dietary restrictions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in living spaces, promoting a safe and welcoming environment.
- Implement care plans developed by healthcare teams, ensuring adherence to prescribed routines and medication administration.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation, including memory care for those with Alzheimer’s or dementia.
- Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts for safe transfers of clients with mobility challenges, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Foster strong relationships with clients by providing emotional support and companionship, enhancing their overall well-being.
Work Location: In person, Grey Bruce County, Perth (Goderich, Kincardine, Walkerton, Wiarton, Owen Sound, Mt. Forest, Stratford and surrounding areas)
Basic qualifications
- PSW or Experienced Caregiver
- First aid and CPR certification to respond effectively in emergencies is an asset
- VSS
- Ability to work in Canada
