Since its inception in 1964 as a senior citizens’ home in the Whitchurch-Stouffville area, Parkview Services for Seniors has been an integral and respected part of the fabric of the community of Stouffville. Originating as rental accommodations where tenants lived independently in a seniors’ community campus tailored with a wide range of amenities, Parkview has expanded over the decades to include life lease apartments and bungalows, and a 124-bed long-term care home. Today, the CEO of Parkview Services for Seniors leads a team who support and operate three Ontario non-profit corporations:
  1. Parkview Home Long-Term Care (128 beds)
  2. Parkview Village (124 apartments)
  3. Parkview Suites and Clusters (45 life lease suites and 20 bungalows)
Collectively, these senior housing choices combine to provide outstanding care, support and engagement for residents at different stages of the aging journey, in a warm community of housing for seniors and long-term care within a beautiful, spacious setting in the heart of Stouffville, Ontario.

The CEO will work collaboratively with staff to focus on innovation and continuous improvement while maintaining and enhancing the success of Parkview’s processes and approaches that have earned it the excellent reputation it enjoys with longstanding stakeholders and newer communities. The successful candidate will understand the physical, emotional, social and spiritual aspects of health and well-being and will lead the staff in a holistic approach to care and support of residents at all stages of their lives at Parkview. The new leader will build upon the legacy of Parkview’s faith-filled founders and will work tirelessly to create the best experience for residents. The new CEO will be a reflective leader who works on continuously evolving self-knowledge and capacity building for staff, creating a climate of team commitment where staff work together to proactively adapt to changing environments and new opportunities.

Parkview seeks a humble servant leader who is visionary, empathetic and relational, with strong listening skills, strategic insight and patience. Parkview is seeking a new CEO to champion and implement the way forward for the organization and its vital work as outlined in the 2024-2028 Strategic Plan. An innovative leader, the CEO will embrace opportunities to refine and expand the approaches that are working well, while identifying and promoting new strategies and initiatives to further enhance Parkview’s efficacy and outreach to existing and emerging communities. A strong communicator who enjoys outreach and will serve as an ambassador for Parkview, the CEO will seek partnerships and build relationships that strengthen and celebrate Parkview’s presence and impact among its stakeholders.
The CEO will support the Board’s commitment to making wise decisions, taking informed actions and using resources efficiently, recognizing the need for financial sustainability and capital investment to maintain facilities and fund capital renovations.

The CEO will balance the priorities and find the synergies between the two service streams of the organization: independent living and long-term care. A successful candidate should have a progressive track record in senior services system leadership, with demonstrated innovative accomplishments, including change management leadership. The CEO will foster the culture of service that Parkview values, managing the increasingly complex care needs for long-term care residents and the interest in greater integrated independent living supports to enable Parkview Village residents to continue to age safely in their own homes.

The CEO will lead a revitalization of the organization post-pandemic to reinvigorate Parkview, ensuring its continued success and imprint in the communities it serves. A successful candidate should have a proven ability to determine, communicate, lead and execute the delivery of strategic directions with appropriate consideration of political impact and consequences.
As a highly visible leader, the CEO will reinforce existing strong connections with the Stouffville community and further enhance Parkview’s presence by strengthening alliances and partnerships, and celebrating diversity so that Parkview is continuously recognized as a welcoming and safe space for all.
