Session 1: Medical Assistance in Dying & Emerging New Models

Overview:
This insightful panel delved into the evolving landscape of Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID), exploring emerging models, ethical challenges, and legal frameworks. Experts discussed global variations in MAID approaches, patient autonomy, and the hurdles faced by healthcare systems (including social care and long-term care) in adapting to these changes. 

 
 
Session 2: The Ethics of Mobilizing a Global Health Human Resources Workforce

Overview:
With a global health human resources shortage at a critical point, this panel will explore the ethical dimensions of recruiting and supporting displaced healthcare workers. We will discuss strategies used by countries to attract foreign-born workers, the impact of these programs on the countries of origin, and how global collaboration can ensure the best use of foreign labor.
 
Session 3: The Opportunities for Artificial Intelligence in Social Care & Long-Term Care

This roundtable explored how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can transform the world of seniors’ care. Can AI be effectively adopted in social care and long-term care as a supportive tool? What does the future hold? What are the benefits and risks? We'll also discuss the ethical considerations, especially regarding human rights in healthcare and long-term care.
